Composite Repair Wrap
A composite repair wrap is applied to reinforce and strengthen pipelines and other structures. Each wrap contains a fast-working resin which begins to set rock hard in minutes after activation. As it is wrapped and smoothed around a pipe, it cures to form an impact resistant, protective shell which increases wall thickness, pressure resistance and hoop strength.
Sylmasta manufacture three different composite wraps. SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage is used for general pipe strengthening and reinforcement of leak repairs made with sealants like Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tape and Superfast Epoxy Putty. It has WRAS approval for use on pipes carrying drinking water.
Where a pipe has been weakened or damaged, SylWrap HD increases outer wall thickness to return the line towards original specification. It also improves chemical resistance.
SylWrap CR is incorporated with corrosion inhibitors to offer greater protection against substrate corrosion in aggressive environments. In testing, a metal pile wrapped in SylWrap CR subjected to 1,000 hours of saltwater exposure returned corrosion free after removal of the bandage.
SylShield is three times the thickness of standard SylWrap. It protects pipelines and welds from scarring and damage during intense trenchless installation processes. The extreme thickness enables layers of protection to be built more quickly with less wrapping.
The E190 Epoxy Composite Repair Kit contains E190 Brushable Epoxy Resin and Fibreglass Tape. Coating the Fibreglass with E190 creates a composite bandage which can be applied via a layered patch repair in applications where wrapping is not possible.

SylShield Pipe Weld & Protection Wrap
Three times the thickness of SylWrap. It is used to protect welds and pipelines which are subjected to intense installation processes or operate in highly abrasive environments.

E190 Epoxy Composite Repair Kit
Kit containing Sylmasta E190 Brushable Epoxy Resin and Fibreglass Tape, enabling more versatile patch repairs to complex sections of pipework or tanks where direct bandage wrapping is not possible.
